Peace + Love + Acro Yoga

Core Values

Our classes and jams have four core values: Inclusivity, Accurate Self-Assessment, Safety, and Open & Positive Communication.

Inclusivity

Inclusivity means that everyone is welcome. You don’t have to play with everyone, but you should always help create a positive environment in which everyone gets a chance to play and learn. Beginners, beginner-mediates, inter-vanced, and superninja acroyogis can all have fun playing together.

Accurate Self-Assessment

Accurate Self-Assessment means that you are always aware of yourself and your abilities. Play your “edge” to find challenge, growth and fun without carelessly going for something you’re not confident with. There are always ways to take small steps to achieve a bigger goal. If you need help assessing accurately assessing please ask a more experienced acroyogi.

Safety

Safety means that everyone works together to help keep the whole community safe. Good spotting is essential to safe learning. If you see someone who needs another spotter please volunteer. If you need help learning how to spot properly please ask a more experienced acroyogi. Never spot someone significantly larger than yourself.

Open & Positive Communication

Open & Positive Communication means that everyone involved always knows what’s happening at all times. It also means that if something doesn’t go the way you expected you ask what you can do to make it better. It means asking for help when you need it and speaking up when something isn’t working for you. Remember to always assume the positive, and keep in mind that everything is possible with practice and a little help from your friends.

Community Growth

Community Growth means that everyone does whatever they can to help further the practice of the entire community. AcroYoga is fundamentally a community practice and it does not work without other people. We’re here to help each other out and work together to further the practice of the entire AcroYoga family.
